Baptism

Baptism is a huge step in your journey with God!

If you’ve made a commitment to Christ, it’s time to take the next step and make your decision known. Baptism is the best way to express your faith and reflect your life change. We do immersion baptism because that’s the way Jesus did it, the New Testament church did it, and we are commanded to do it. Jesus told us in the Great Commission to, “go and teach and make disciples and immerse.” Matthew 28:19. If you would like more information on baptism by immersion Click Here!

If God is leading you to be baptized, we would be happy to help you take that step.

Why Baptism By Immersion?

Baptism by Immersion Info

At Parkview, we believe that following and trusting Jesus is God’s desire for everyone on earth. (John 10:10) One of the things we see in the Bible is that people celebrated their commitment to follow Jesus with baptism.

Baptism is an expression of faith that shows a person has decided to trust Jesus to forgive them for their sins (Acts 2:38), and to teach them how to live in the way God created them to live. (Matthew 11:28-30, 28:19-20)

At Parkview, baptism is done by immersion (a person goes completely underwater) and is done for anyone old enough to decide they want to follow Jesus. We do immersion baptism because that’s what we see in the part of the Bible called the New Testament.

We don’t believe the act of baptism “saves” a person – the baptism is simply an outward sign of something God is doing in our hearts. The Bible teaches that anyone who “calls on the name of the Lord” (trusts Jesus as the way to life) will be saved. (Acts 2:21, Romans 10:13)

Baptisms can be done during or after one of our weekend services, or they can be planned for another time that allows you to celebrate your commitment to Jesus with family and friends.

We welcome anyone who wants to be baptized and we’re happy to help you take the next step on your journey with Jesus!
